The 2LBin WellSetter-225 Tool was designed by tappers who rely on safe and dependable means of installing Thermo-wells under pressure.
The WellSetter-225 kit includes two common wellhead sockets, 7/8" and 1 1/8". Our sockets are changeable yet retained by our special rod and the sockets include a set screw to retain the thermo-well. Any special size sockets can be provided.
The WellSetter-225 allows pretesting of the weld or threaded connections prior to tapping and setting the wells. It also provides confirmation that the Thermo-well is installed into the Thermolet™ in fluid tight fashion prior to removal of the tool.
The Well-Setter packing also can be used to hottap 1/2" and 3/4" Thermolet™ fittings by use of our solid drill bit accessories. |

Thermo-well Inserting
Thermo-well inserting is the installation of temperature sensing wells into existing systems without a shutdown.IFT can provide thermo-wells and/or install your thermo-wells without interruption of service.
A number of thermo-well models are available for a wide range of temperature applications, pressures, and types of pipelines. Monitoring equipment available varies from basic on-line thermo-meters to high tech microprocessor temperature controllers.

A wide variety of thermo-wells can be installed into any type of pipeline. In this
particular case, the pipeline is steel and the "Weldone" fitting is welded to the pipe.
With non-weldable pipe, a bolt-on saddle may be supplied. The "Weldone"
assembly has been welded to the pipeline and a temporary access valve has
been installed and pressure tested. After testing the fitting and temporary
valve, the hot tap can be made into the pipeline. After the drill is retracted
above the valve, the valve is closed and the tapping machine is removed
from the line. |

The thermo-well is held by a hex socket that has an allen screw to retain the thermo-well. The housing containing the thermo-well is screwed onto the
temporary access valve. |
 |
The valve is opened and the thermo-well is pushed past the valve and threaded into the inside thread of the "weldone" fitting. |
 |
When properly installed, the
pressure is sealed off by the
thermo-well and the temporary
valve can be removed. |
